Traditional Music & Worship

At FBC, "worship stands at the center of the church's life and mission. It's the summit toward which the church moves and the source from which all of its ministries flow. It's the most important action the church is about. Worship informs the church's teaching, gives shape to its evangelistic mission to the world, and compels the church toward social action. Worship is the context in which the true fellowship of Christ's body is realized and where those who participate can find real healing. The single most important thing the church can do is worship. A vibrant worship life will glorify God, edify the faithful, and engage the seeker". - Robert Webber
Music Ministries and the Arts - Music is an integral part of worship. Musical participation is encouraged beginning as a child and continuing throughout the stages of life. Choral and instrumental groups provide opportunities for involvement and celebration. On a regular basis, Dramatic Presentations, Interpretive Dance, Poetry, Visual Arts, Sculpture and Pottery enhance our worship experience.

It has been said that the purpose of the church is to 1) exalt the Savior, 2) equip the saints, and 3) evangelize the sinners. It is essential that we study God's word in order to understand that we are all sinners and all need his transforming Spirit living within. Through the study of God's word in a variety of settings and formats, we strive to provide opportunities for personal growth.

Children's Ministry - The goal of the Children's Ministry at FBC is to help children know God and become active disciples of Jesus Christ. A growing number of opportunities are available. Children's Church, ages 4 & 5, and Sunday School are a part of the children's ministry throughout the year. A fun time for kids, Terrific Tuesdays, takes the kids on various outings. Vacation Bible School, one week during the summer, engages children in Bible Study lessons that are built around a broad theme. MOSAIC Arts Camp is a special event "mentoring our students artistically in Christ." Special events during the school year such as "Fall Festival" and "Easter Egg Extravaganza" are planned with interactive activities for all ages of children. The children experience positive Christian fellowship as they grow in Christian faith. They practice spiritual habits such as prayer, worship, attendance and service to others and share their gifts of giving to God and caring for others.
